Lose me
Yesterday is over it was only a dream
Now I'm in tomorrow and there's nothing in between
Wonder why you left me in a trance
Now I'm going to take my only chance
Something inside keeps telling me I'm in love again
Take a look in my eyes you'll see
How today's become a memory
You look like a photograph to me
Cos you use me, confuse me, you turn me away
But you'll lose me, you lose me this way.
I don't care what they say about passing romance,
Rows of lonely faces at the end of term dance
What you gonna do when you're on your own again
Doesn't really mean that much to me
Cos you use me, confuse me, refuse me, you turn me away
But you'll lose me, you lose me this way
You confuse me, refuse me, you tell me to stay
But you'll lose me You'll lose me today
Yes you'll lose me Lose me today
Yesterday is over Yesterday is over

Recorded by David Paton in 1999 or thereabouts. We did a few songs together and I thought I had lost them altogether
because the CD I had was cracked and irreparable and Davie didn’t have any copies but I found this really good copy on a
tape which I didn’t know I had. So this is the single as I would have really wanted it. The 1985 single was a bit daft in terms
of production and the cover was even dafter – a photo of a sailor kissing somebody at the end of WW2.
(You can now buy it
as ‘extremely rare alternative rock’ on ebay) The single was called ‘Yesterday is Over’ but the recording at David’s was retitled
‘Lose Me’. I’m blown away by Davie’s masterful bass line and sparse yet effective production. I just can’t believe I lost it for all
these years but so glad to have found it. David Paton is a top bass session player who has worked with Kate Bush, Elton John, Jimmy Page,
Richard Thomson, and the Pretenders to mention a few. He has also written and performed two major worldwide hits with Pilot – Magic and January.
